Anesketin Injection

Anesketin is a ketamine hydrochloride–based injectable anesthetic. It belongs to the same drug class as Ketamine and is used mainly in medical and veterinary settings.

 What it is

• A rapid-acting dissociative anesthetic
• Contains ketamine HCl, typically around 100 mg/mL concentration
• Given via:
  • Intravenous (IV)
  • Intramuscular (IM)
  • Sometimes subcutaneous (SC)

 Main uses

Medical / clinical

• Induction and maintenance of anesthesia
• Short surgical or diagnostic procedures
• Sedation where preservation of airway reflexes is important

Veterinary (very common)

• Used in animals like:
  • Cats
  • Dogs
  • Horses
• Can be used alone or with other sedatives for procedures

How it works

• Blocks NMDA receptors in the brain
• Produces a “dissociative anesthesia” state (patient is unconscious but reflexes may remain)
